Reviews of heating, substation and district heating designs
An independent engineering review helps the client assess the consistency of a design before purchasing equipment and starting installation. The scope covers documentation, calculations and equipment selection under an agreed brief.
Discuss your projectWhat we check
Initial data, design parameters, thermal and hydraulic calculations, diagrams, equipment characteristics and specifications. Substations are checked against heating and domestic hot water requirements; network designs are checked against the initial conditions.
When a review is useful
Before design approval, equipment procurement, contractor selection or a change in engineering approach. A review can cover one discipline or a coordinated documentation package.
Engineering review and formal assessment
Where a request is described as an expert assessment, we first clarify its purpose, scope and expected deliverable. This service provides an engineering review and written observations. Any statutory expert assessment has separate requirements and must be agreed separately.
Optimising a heat supply design
The review can identify unjustified equipment capacity, inconsistencies between diagrams and possible design changes. The suitability and effect of each recommendation are assessed for the particular building; no fixed savings percentage is promised.
Review deliverables
A written report with observations and recommendations for optimisation. Send the design and describe the project stage so we can agree the review depth, schedule and fee.
